Some manufacturers use stainless steel ropes. This in our view is a bit of over-kill. Mostly, stainless steel rope loops or eyes, are held together using brass or copper ferules.
The coefficient of expansion in these dissimilar materials, allows for movement between them when temperature changes and joints like these have been known to come apart.
